What time are you open?

Whilst our opening hours are from 9am to 12 noon in the morning and 2pm to 4pm in the afternoon in reception, we do spend most of our time caring for the dogs with us, so if the phone isn't answered, please please do leave a message as we are fastidious in returning your call the same day, usually with 40 minutes.

How long has Amberley been a boarding kennels?

There has been a boarding kennels located on the Amberley grounds for over 60 years. The Appleby family have lived in the area for over 40 years and have had dogs and horses all there lives and took over the business in 2021.

Are you recruiting?

We are always keen to speak with you if you are looking for a career with dogs. We aren't recruiting right now but please email your CV and cover letter and would welcome you visiting us for a quick chat.

Do you have CCTV.

Yes, Our kennel blocks, play paddocks and grounds are secure, patrolled, regularly inspected, and well maintained with extensive CCTV deployed for additional 24 hour surveillance.

Boarding

How do I make a booking?

Please contact us directly either via telephone or email with details below or via our "Online Booking" button in red in the top right hand of this page.

How much does boarding cost?

The daily rate for a single dog to board with us is currently £32.00 per day. On the final day of boarding if you collect in the afternoon opening hours it is a full day charge. If you collect in the morning, you will receive a 50% discount for this day resulting in it being £16.00.

Can I make a provisional booking?

Booking and payments - A deposit may be required to reserve a kennel for your dog/s which is non-refundable unless 14 full days notice is given and is typically £50. There is a discounted rate for more than one dog sharing a kennel. Refunds can not be given for dogs collected earlier than the booked collection date. We always recommend discussing your timings and can usually make changes if required.

Can I visit before I book?

Yes, a visit/inspection is more than welcome. Please make an appointment by telephone or e-mail. Viewing appointments are 10.30am and 2.30pm Monday to Saturday.

What happens if I need to cancel?

If your plans change and need to cancel or reschedule, we can always move your booking to fit other dates and your deposit can roll over to this booking.

Does my dog need to be vaccinated?

Yes. No dog can be stay without a current vaccination certificate against Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvo virus, Parainfluenza (DHLPPI) Leptospirosis and is part of our Terms and Conditions, Licence and Insurances.

What will you feed my dog during its stay?

At Amberley we provide all meals/food and encourage a dry food diet, however we do keep a range of wet food and a variety of other alternatives. We like to incorporate any special diets you may give them at home to ensure they feel settled during their stay and maintain a similar routine. Any specialised dietary requirements are available on request, and all included in the boarding costs. You can of course bring your own food if there is a particular diet requirement.

What happens if my dog gets sick or injured?

We endeavour to keep full customers and dog details with preferences up to date with vaccines, exercise preferences, grooming, vet registration details, UK emergency numbers etc so for any event we can act accordingly. Please refer to our T&C's as below.

Day Care

What is day care?

Day Care is where dogs can come to us for fun days, food and play from 8am to allow owners needing to be at work or have a personal away day. We will insist in a thorough questionnaire to be completed as day care usually consists of socialisation with other dogs and we will wish to ensure we have the knowledge to ensure that every dog is managed correctly.

How much will day care cost?

Day Care is currently £27 per day. We will be expanding our Day Care in 2024 with the addition of two 2 acre enclosed woodland paddocks with play equipment and a new barn complex for indoor training and play during inclement days.

What will I need to provide for my dog?

It is always handy to bring your own Breakfast/Dinner/Tea/Snacks that fits with your dogs normal daily routine at home.

What time is drop off and collection?

Drop off and collections are currently from 8am to 5pm unless by prior arrangement.

Grooming

Can my dog be groomed?

All dogs can be groomed but depends on their breed, age. health and personality. We do bath, nails, hand stripping and grooming during boarding stays and have a limited diary capacity for non residents, so please ask.
